Stability first.
Value second.
Growth that lasts.
We help Private Equity backed, high change, and fast growing businesses take control of technology and operations fast, so growth and value creation actually stick.
A practice built around senior operators, not generalists.
Our associates have led as CIOs, COOs, and Executive Partners inside real businesses under real pressure, not just advised from the outside.
Our vision
To be the trusted partner that turns technology risk into business value, at the pace investors expect.
Our mission
Stabilise what is broken, prove what is working, and build the operating foundations that let a business scale, sell, or grow with confidence.
37 years of technology and operating leadership
Including senior advisory roles with a global research and advisory firm, and CIO and Deputy COO level operating roles inside Private Equity backed businesses through periods of rapid scaling, recovery, and sale.
Sitting on both sides of the table
Advising boards and CIOs on how investors judge technology value, then operating inside the business to actually deliver it.
Real operating experience
Our associates have led technology and operations inside businesses scaling several hundred percent in size, not just advised from the outside.
Investor side intelligence
Years working directly with CIOs and boards at a global advisory firm gave our team a clear view of how investors and executives judge technology value, and what they expect to see.
A proven method for stabilising and scaling
A repeatable approach to governance, cost control, and delivery confidence, tested across multiple businesses and 37 years of combined experience.
Range across sectors and boardrooms
Experience spans veterinary and healthcare services, skills and education, publishing and media, financial services, retail, and professional services.
Proof, not promises.
Examples from decades leading technology and operations across Private Equity backed portfolios and independent growing businesses alike, through sale processes, rapid scaling, and recovery from failing delivery, presented without naming individual clients, in line with our confidentiality approach.

— Direct report, major client programmeTwo kinds of businesses bring us in.
Most of our work sits with Private Equity backed and high change organisations. We also work with growing, independent businesses hitting the same problems for the first time, without an investor in the room.
Private Equity & Portfolio Companies
Where most of our track record sits. Stabilising operations ahead of a sale, resetting governance and cost control post-acquisition, technology due diligence, and value creation work tied directly to an investment thesis. If there's a deal timeline, an investor reporting cycle, or a 100 day plan involved, this is our core discipline.
Growing & Independent Businesses
No PE owner, no deal timeline, just a business that's outgrown what its current technology leadership can handle, and isn't ready for the cost or commitment of a full time CIO. The same senior experience, applied at a pace and scale that fits, with plain language over governance jargon, and no oversized consultant energy.
Common problems that call for a fractional CIO
If any of these sound familiar, that's usually where we start, whether or not there's a PE owner in the picture.
No strategic technology voice
A capable team handling day to day, but no one owning where technology needs to go next, or translating that for the board.
Legacy systems holding growth back
Ageing platforms that made sense five years ago are now the thing slowing every new initiative down.
Technology spend nobody can fully explain
Cost has crept up over time, and nobody's confident anymore about what's driving it or where the waste sits.
Cyber exposure with no clear owner
Risk that's been quietly growing, with no one accountable for closing the gaps or reporting them upward properly.
A major system change on the horizon
An ERP, CRM, or platform migration coming up that the business has never done before and doesn't want to get wrong.
Not ready for a full time CIO yet
The business needs senior technology leadership now, but isn't at the size, or the budget, for a permanent hire.
A team that's good but unled
Talented people doing their best without a senior voice setting direction, prioritising, or shielding them from noise.
Considering a permanent CIO, eventually
Not sure yet whether the business needs a full time hire, or for how long. A fractional engagement is often the way to find out.
How fractional actually works
A set number of days a month, agreed upfront and reviewed as needs change. No six month hiring process, no long notice period to exit, and no obligation to convert to a permanent role unless it's the right fit for both sides. Specific terms are agreed per engagement, this isn't a fixed package.
What it costs, roughly
Typically a fraction of a full time CIO's salary and overhead, since you're paying for the days you need, not a permanent headcount. Compare it to the cost of a permanent hire plus recruitment fees, and it's usually a lower risk way to get the same seniority in the room. Exact rates depend on scope and time commitment, happy to talk through what that looks like for your business on a first call.
What changes in the first 30 days
A smaller business doesn't need a lengthy diagnosis before anything happens. Early weeks typically surface the two or three things actually costing you time or money, with visible action starting immediately, not a 100 day plan sitting in a drawer before anyone sees a result.
Starting small, low risk
Engagements can start narrow, a single problem, a short initial period, before scaling up if it's working. No long contract to sign upfront, no big commitment before either side knows it's a fit.
Every engagement starts the same way.
Understand what is actually happening, then fix the right thing first.
Interim, Fractional & Permanent CIO
Senior technology leadership embedded fast, without the six month hiring process. Typical mandates run three months to two years, extending well beyond that where the relationship earns it, one of our longest ran five years across multiple roles. Permanent placements are also considered where there's a clear transformation agenda.
Portfolio & PMO Leadership
Sequencing and prioritising a large portfolio of workstreams so the board and investors see one clear view of change. Built for environments running dozens of projects at once, often alongside an ERP or platform rollout.
Transformation & Recovery
Rescuing programmes that have lost the board's confidence, resetting governance so delivery becomes predictable again.
Cost & Operating Model
Finding cash and capacity through the operating model, not a blanket cut that damages capability.
Cyber & Resilience
Board level assurance built on evidence, with practical uplift that does not slow the business down.
M&A & Deal Support
Technology due diligence, integration, and separation, delivered through a repeatable playbook.
AI Enabled Improvement
Practical adoption that reduces cost or increases capacity, with governance the board can trust. An area we are continuing to build out, and we say so plainly.
Direct delivery and advisory engagements, combined. A number of further engagements, including several startups, sit under NDA and aren't named here.
Unlock the operating foundations your growth strategy depends on.
